It's that time of year, when all the hip parents of the midwest take their children to the local pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin and get photographs of the occasion. It's almost an unspoken requirement of Facebook -- if you have a kid and you have a pumpkin patch nearby, you take them to it and post the pictures so everyone will feel obligated to make comments about how cute said kids are.
Well, in the Griffith family we take our child to Wal-Mart. We point to a pile of round orange things and say, "There, son, pick out one a dem $3.88 punkins to take home." We then proceed to take zero pictures.
It's just as well. We saved time and money by not going to the overpriced kid-trap/pumpkin patch 40 miles away, and Owen had just as much fun. Even if he did pick out a strange white one!

HA! Funny. We took Bryce to the patch that is just a mile south of our house. After seeing the pumpkins were $10 each, we decided to buy one at Wal-mart. Luckily our best friends grow them in their garden and gave us one for free. Even better!! I am a little shocked you didn't take a pic of him picking out his Walmart pumpkin though! Come on!! lol
