Tonight we had Jonathans cousin and her husband and 1-year old over for dinner. We learned pretty quickly that our house is not in any way child-proof. By the time the night was over, we had taken all our kitchen drawers out, rubber-banded the cabinet knobs together, put up the dog food, the candy, the pottery, and pretty much everything else that wasnt permanently affixed to the wall or floor. So that was interesting.
Nothing much else is new... no kitchen fires today, although I burned a 5-inch chunk of my arm with an iron and melted some plastic tongs on a stove burner. Super. I think maybe people should have to get a license to administer heated appliances, and I also think I should not be issued one.
